The Alabama edge rushers who are ‘ready to do it’ at WOLF

Alabama LB Quandarrius Robinson (#34) on the field for the Crimson Tide's 2023 spring game.

Alabama football has had some great edge rushers at their disposal over the years and are hopeful they have some on their current roster.

The position is a bit different under Kalen DeBoer and Kane Wommack, but the mission is still the same.

Alabama is in search of some talent at the ‘Wolf’ position, and some veteran players have taken the lead for the position early in fall camp, per the Tide’s outside linebacker coach Christian Robinson.

“Q (Quandarrius Robinson) has obviously been out there with Keanu (Koht) and Qua (Russaw),” Robinson said Thursday. “Those are the guys that I feel like to this point that have taken the strides where I believe that they’re ready to go do it. Some of the younger guys like Yhonzae have taken some really good strides of understanding. I think when you are true freshman and you come into a new program for your first year, there’s so much growth….I’m excited about our two young guys, Jayshawn and Noah. I see Jayshawn from the spring feeling more comfortable with what he needs to do. He understands the effort he needs to play with. He’s already grown. Him and Noah both have gotten bigger, stronger, faster this summer with coach Ballou. I’d really say that I’m looking for them all to take strides at where they’re at.”

Alabama will look to continue to pick up steam as fall camp moves forward.
