He needed a change after two years at the University of Southern California, but the west coast athlete feels home with Alabama football in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Domani Jackson, a product of Mater Dei High School, transferred to the Crimson Tide in the spring. The 6-foot, 197-pounder wanted the tough culture that comes with Alabama and he is thriving. He produced a good spring, had a strong offseason, and looks good through five practices of fall camp. Jackson was one of a few defensive players available to speak to reporters after Tuesday’s practice. He is happy to be a part of a powerhouse program, regardless if it came with Nick Saban’s retirement.

“Truthfully, the A does not change,” Jackson said. “They [Alabama] are still a powerhouse, still run college football. I just wanted to have a change and reset my college career. I felt like this was the best opportunity for me.”
Jackson felt Alabama was going to be fine when it hired Kalen DeBoer as Saban’s successor.
“I played against him, so I know what they are capable of,” Jackson said about competing against DeBoer and his staff at the University of Washington. “You can go down his road, he’s a winning coach. The coaches he was going to bring in were going to be great.”
Jackson has a chance at a breakout year in the fall.
He has the tools to be one of the best outside cornerbacks in the nation.
