Kalen DeBoer, Alabama’s head football coach, tackled this question on the GoJo and Golic podcast. He believes the video game is more than just for fun. Crimson Tide players enjoy competing against each other in the game, yet it also preparing them in practice with different play calls. DeBoer said the game is helping his players with read progressions on the field.

“We have had some plays that we’ve run and some of them, you know, they know the read progression and you are like wondering how did they know that so I guess there is an element where it is a positive,” DeBoer said. “The things that they do away from the facility, especially in the summer when it first came out I knew they were all in. I am sure there is a lot more being played than what I realize even at this point too.”

Video games can teach you something. Alabama players are using College Football 25 to enhance their skills.

We will see if playing this game could help lead the Tide to a successful season.
