First Take Host Stephen A. Smith names biggest threat to Georgia

ESPN’s First Take host Stephen A. Smith named Alabama the biggest threat to Georgia this football season.

Smith was adamant about the Crimson Tide threatening the Bulldogs despite Nick Saban departing from Alabama and Kalen DeBoer taking over on Wednesday’s episode of the show.

“Alabama,” Smith said to start off his rant. “That’s where we’re going here. What y’all talking about? I know Nick Saban is gone. The greatest coach in the history of college football who’s now gonna be on college football Gameday for this network right here. Oh, yeah. The great Nick Saban is gone, but Kalen DeBoer is no scrub. Let’s look at this record right here. Excuse me. We’re talking about Kalen DeBoer here. 25 and 3 over the last two seasons, the man has won 90 percent of his games as a head coach. 104 and 12 in nine seasons at Washington, Fresno State, even the NAIA Sioux Falls for crying out loud, three national titles, was in a national championship game last year against Michigan, and he is succeeding the great Nick Saban. There’s a standard at Alabama, and you know what you got to do. Now Kirby Smart is that dude. The man is special. We understand. A two time national champion came up short, didn’t win, didn’t have a 3 peat. Why did they not have a three peat? Because they ran into Alabama. Here’s the deal right here. Kirby Smart, since the start of the 2020 season, what is Georgia’s record against Alabama? 1 and 3, including two losses in the SEC title game. What is Kirby Smart record lifetime against Alabama? 1 and 5.”

The college football season is quickly approaching and conversations are heating up as it gets closer.
