Paul Finebaum says Alabama ‘not good enough’ to win it all, 2 SEC teams have better chances

Alabama LB Deontae Lawson (#0) during the Crimson Tide's scrimmage at Bryant-Denny Stadium for fall camp.

Paul Finebaum is not high on Alabama football ahead of the 2024 football season.

Finebaum was a guest on ESPN’s “Get Up” Wednesday, and he shared he feels Georgia and Texas have better chances at winning a National Championship than Alabama. The ESPN personality pointing at many factors to drive home his opinion of the Tide not being good enough.

“I don’t think this team is good enough,” Finebaum said. “Nick Saban himself told you a couple of weeks ago one of their deficiencies is in the defensive secondary. That’s on him. That’s what he used to coach, and he lost his best player…to Ohio State in Caleb Downs. I think they will challenge. I think the schedule is overwhelming. I think they can make the playoffs, but they are not going to win the national championship without Nick Saban. Not yet, at least.”

The Tide has its fair share of Naysayers and supporters heading into 2024.
