Alabama’s cornerback room is showing it is not afraid of big moments.
Kalen DeBoer shared with the media after Saturday’s scrimmage that it was the ‘most physical’ practice he’s been a part of since becoming the Crimson Tide’s head coach.
The offense had a couple of explosive plays, but DeBoer was very pleased with how the defensive secondary responded. He said the corners were ‘on top of wide receivers all day long’ in the second scrimmage.

“They understand their responsibilities and are in the right position,”DeBoer said about Alabama’s cornerbacks.
“I am sure there are a couple of clips we can find where they could have been better, but really nothing as far as busted assignments. I think they continue to get better each and every day. They are practicing out there, and they really want to do it. They have the want too. I am proud of how they continue to bring it every day. It was some physicality out there.”
DeBoer said the tackling from the corners was good.
“They got guys to the ground,” he said. “They laid some hits on guys that were running routes, both receivers and tight ends. A lot of good things from that group, they continue to grow and improve each and every day.”
Alabama has a young room at cornerback, but guys have stepped up.
DeBoer mentioned how the secondary forced some turnovers in the scrimmage.
This group is starting to turn into a strength for the Crimson Tide.
