Courtney Morgan is expected to play a critical role in the future of football as its general manager.
Morgan is the first to take on the role of the General Manager for the Crimson Tide. This is a position many programs are starting to adopt.
Kalen DeBoer dove into the vision of Morgan during an interview with former NFL defensive lineman, Chris Long, on the “Green Light” podcast.
“A lot of studies right now, trying to project what it could be and how we can be ahead of the game,” DeBoer said. “I’ve really felt like Courtney Morgan, our GM has this big vision. He has the vision beyond just being a guy that can do great with building relationships and loves identifying and really diving into film and finding those diamonds in the rough…He has all those skills, and he just is passionate about it. But I think he’s also got this just big vision on how we can connect. I’m not getting any younger. We’re all getting older. But he’s got an understanding of what even the culture is that a lot of the 16, 17, 18 year olds enjoy being around. Whether it’s setting up the graphics and the videos when they come official visits, unofficial visits and what they like to see. The nuts and bolts of everything that recruiting kind of has always been about is helping build the relationships. I pride myself in fostering an environment our team and for our staff that just is positive. He does an amazing job doing that.”
Alabama is currently working to complete its 2025 recruiting class and establish relationships with future prospects. It looks as if Morgan will be instrumental in those efforts.
