Kalen DeBoer responds to illegal recruiting accusations from Miami of Ohio

Kalen DeBoer responded to Miami of Ohio head coach Chuck Martin’s illegal recruiting accusations on Thursday.

Martin accused DeBoer and Alabama of ‘illegally’ recruiting former Redhawks’ kicker, Graham Nicholson.

“We didn’t lose him,” Martin said in a recent interview. “He’s at Alabama. We know that. We know exactly where he’s at. You media people, it’s all pretend like, no. Alabama stole our kicker. They illegally recruit our kicker and stole him from us. That’s a fact. But we act like it’s not. We live in this la la world. Like, hey, let’s not talk real. I don’t know why. Everybody knows what’s going on. Alabama stole our kicker.”

DeBoer responded to this statement during his Thursday press conference.

“I don’t know anything about that, that comment,” DeBoer said. “He went into the portal, and we reached out to him. That’s probability.”

Nicholson is projected to start at kicker for the Tide.
