The new book entitled “The Price: What It Takes to Win In College Football’s Era of Chaos” claims to give insight into the dynamic between Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin when they worked together at Alabama.
Kiffin was the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016. Alabama made three College Football Playoffs and won a National Championship with Kiffin as its offensive coordinator.
Veteran journalist and writers of the book Armen Keteyian and John Talty dedicated a chapter to Saban’s agent Jimmy Sexton. In an excerpt obtained by AL.com, the book claims Saban once threatened to fire Sexton for persuading him to hire Kiffin.
“That son of a bitch,” Saban said to Sexton, per the book. “I’m going to fire you, Jimmy, for ever talking me into hiring that narcissistic prick.”
The book is set to be release next week.
