Alabama football produced two marquee edge rushers in the 2024 National Football League Draft.
People are excited to watch Dallas Turner dominate for the Minnesota Vikings, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are very pleased with its second round selection of Chris Braswell.
The Maryland native got his first career sack as a professional in Friday’s preseason matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Braswell exploded upon the snap, got around an offensive lineman, and finished on the quarterback. He came to the University of Alabama as a five-star in the 2020 recruiting class, yet Braswell waited behind Will Anderson Jr., Drew Sanders, and Dallas Turner for his opportunity. He blossomed last season as a pass rusher for Nick Saban’s final Southeastern Conference Championship team. Braswell totaled 42 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, five quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles, a blocked field goal, a pass breakup, and an interception returned for a touchdown.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pounder turned in 4.6 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.
He posted a 33.5″ vertical, 9’7″ broad jump, and 1.59 seconds in his 10-yard split. Braswell has incredible quickness and converts speed to power well.
