Crimson Tide nation will have its eyes on everyone, but there is one player that peaks significant interest. Ryan Williams, an alumnus of Saraland (Ala.) High School, is a talented in-state product. The electric wide receiver arrived in the summer as a five-star to the University of Alabama. He was Coach DeBoer’s first major win on the recruiting trail, and Williams turned in an outstanding preseason camp. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder will get a lot of action this season, starting with this week’s game.

He had a phenomenal high school career, but a former Tide receiver sees even more for Williams.

Marquis Maze, a former two-time BCS National Champion in 2009 and 2011, looks at Williams as a ‘household name.’

He has nothing but respect for David “The Deuce” Palmer, but Maze knows special when he sees it. Williams has garnered attention since coming in, but he has not let it take from his focus. The coaching staff raved about his maturity in camp.

We will see how special he becomes as a player.
