He has multiple packages ready for Alabama’s defense this season, but how many of those will Kane Wommack feature this former five-star prospect in?
Residents of Montgomery (Ala.) and Crimson Tide are excited to see Qua Russaw.

The game-wrecking linebacker was one-half of Carver High School’s dynamic duo on defense. Russaw and James Smith (defensive lineman) both came in Alabama’s 2023 signing class as five stars. Russaw was one of the top outside linebackers in the nation and became a problem in fall camp, especially with his abilities off the edge in two scrimmages. The 6-foot-2, 251-pounder carries an explosiveness about himself that Tide fans want to watch.
After redshirting his freshman campaign, Wommack has been very impressed with the second-year player at the “Wolf” position.
Russaw should see many reps against Western Kentucky on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Tyler Booker, a junior offensive lineman, knows Russaw is ready to be unleashed.

“Qua has really good explosion,” Booker said Tuesday.
“He is really quick, and he’s strong as well. Since he’s gotten here, he has become a student of the game. He is always asking questions on how he can get better. I am very excited to see how he performs this year.”
Christian Robinson, Alabama’s outside linebackers coach, has Russaw as one of three players at “Wolf” who is ready to execute now in games on defense. He joins Que Robinson and Keanu Koht in that respect from Robinson.
It was probably uncomfortable for him to wait in 2023, but Russaw is set to go off now.
