Kalen DeBoer and Alabama football played a handful of freshman players early and often in their first win of the season against Western Kentucky.
Several Crimson Tide freshmen saw meaningful playing time in the first quarter of Alabama’s 63-0 win over the Hilltoppers.
Ryan Williams and Zabien Brown got this trend rolling in their freshmen debuts as both started at their respective positions. Williams finished the game with 2 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

Red Morgan, Jaylen Mbakwe and Zavier Mincey kept this trend going by rotating in on defense. Morgan showed why Tide coaches and players have not been able to stop talking about him as he came up with an impressive pass break up after a wide receiver had several steps on him, and he finished the game with a tackle. Mbakwe had a pass break up of his own to go along with four tackles.
