Alabama first Power 4 program to offer Georgia 6-foot-5 Edge Timothy Griffin

Alabama became the first Power four program to offer Timothy Griffin on Saturday.

Griffin attends Alcovy High School in Covington, Georgia. He holds previous offers from Alabama A&M, Georgia State, UMASS and Western Kentucky.

The Crimson Tide hosted Griffin for a visit when they defeated the USF Bulls on Saturday. It was an ‘amazing’ visit, per Griffin. He walked away from the visit with an offer from Alabama.

“Everything,” Griffin said when asked what the offer means to him. “I now have the chance to not only change my life, but my family’s life. That’s all I worked for to be able to do, something to make my family proud of me.”

The senior feels the resources Alabama has for its student athletes are second to none.

“The program is great,” said Griffin. “They have everything you need as a player and student to be successful all you have to do is use the resources because they have them all.”

Griffin plans to get back to Tuscaloosa ‘real soon.’

At 6-foot-5 and 257 pounds, the new Alabama target is a long and powerful prospect, who displays strength in pursuit of the football.
