Alabama football’s linebacker, Justin Jefferson was flagged and ejected for targeting in the 2nd half of Alabama’s matchup against USF on Saturday.
The linebacker will miss the first half of Alabama’s game against Wisconsin as a result.
The Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack met with media to discuss his reaction towards Jefferson’s ejection.
“Obviously it’s always disappointing when you have a dynamic player that’s not available for one half of the game,” Wommack said. “We looked at the play. I’ve looked at it from about every angle that I could. I think we’ve just got to tell the young man, ‘You’ve just got to keep playing’. It is what it is. We’ll deal with it and get ourselves ready for him in the second half.”
Jefferson was a standout in the middle of the Crimson Tide’s defense during the game as he had recorded 10 tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack.
It will be interesting to see how Wommack and his defense adjust this weekend in Jefferson’s short absence.
