Alabama football’s wide receiver room feels there is room for them to grow in terms of creating separation against Wisconsin.
The Crimson Tide’s wide receivers combined for 13 receptions and 198 yards in Alabama’s win over USF. However, the Tide’s wide receiver coach JaMarcus Shephard feels there are more opportunities for Alabama’s wideouts to take advantage of.
“There’s some opportunities out there, and we gotta make sure that we’re coming down with those opportunities,” Shephard said when asked about creating separation. “So, that’s just the expectation, and we’re continuously working on it, doing different things in practice to simulate those things and put them in position to be able to.”
Germie Bernard was able to be a solid contributor in Alabama’s win over the Bulls. He finished the game with 53 yards on four receptions.
The Washington transfer is in agreement with Shephard.
“I would say that we’re doing okay,” Bernard said. “I feel like there’s something that we could work on, that coach Shephard said that we could work on. So, we’ll try to implement that into practice this week, so we could be ready for the game.”
Alabama and Wisconsin are set to battle in an 11 a.m. kickoff on Saturday.
