It was an easy decision for Ryan Williams at No. 1 when asked to name his top five Alabama players of all time.
Williams went with DeVonta Smith as his top Alabama player of all time. Smith was the third Alabama player to win the Heisman Trophy after a historical 2020 football season.
The freshman looks up to Smith as one of his top inspirations but wants the Philadelphia Eagle to know he has his eyes set on chasing his greatness.
“Watching Smitty, Smitty my number one,” Williams said on the latest episode of The New Wave Podcast. “He was electric. My dog won the Heisman. I gotta give it to him, but don’t think I ain’t coming for you, my boy.”
Smith’s career is off to a fantastic start through two games. He has pulled in six receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns.
