Nick Saban respects what he is seeing from Ryan Williams during his freshman year with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Williams is leading Alabama in all receiving statistical categories with six receptions for 207 yards and three touchdowns through two games.
Saban recruited Williams and secured a commitment from the former five-star when he was a 10th grader.
The former Alabama head coach feels Williams reminds him of Biletnikoff Award winner and former Alabama wide receiver, Amari Cooper, as a freshman.
“Ryan Williams is a mature competitor,” Saban said on ESPN College Gameday. “He is one of the most mature kids I have ever recruited. As a freshman, he is showing maturity. What that tell you when a guy is a mature competitor, he can focus on the things that matter. And for a 17-year-old guy, this guy is explosive, he’s got great hands, he can run after the catch. I think this guy reminds me of Amari Cooper when he was a freshman.”
Williams and Alabama travel to take on Wisconsin on the road on Saturday.
