Alabama football shifting focus to add defensive line talent on recruiting front

Alabama football is on the hunt to add more defensive line talent to its 2025 recruiting class, and it is abundantly clear.

The Crimson Tide currently have one high school defensive lineman committed in 2025 three-star recruit, London Simmons. Steve Mboumoua is also expected to be a member of this class, but he is currently playing at Southwest Mississippi Community College.

It is no secret one of Alabama’s top remaining targets is five-star defensive lineman, Justus Terry. His recruitment continues to trend as an Alabama-Georgia battle with him expected in Tuscaloosa next weekend.

However, Terry is not the only Georgia defensive lineman Alabama is showing interest in. Fellow Georgia products, Christian Ingram and Timothy Griffin have reported recent offers from Alabama.

Ingram plans to be in Tuscaloosa next weekend as well after picking up recent offers from both the Tide and Georgia.

“It means a lot to me knowing the legacy the Tide has, and the amount of talent they produce,” Ingram told Touchdown Alabama. “I am very excited to know they think I have the talent to compete.”

The Tide were the first power four program to offer Griffin, and he shared he plans to get back to Tuscaloosa ‘real soon’ after earning an offer during a visit for the USF game.

“The program is great,” said Griffin. “They have everything you need as a player and student to be successful all you have to do is use the resources because they have them all.”

In-season recruiting is fluid and nothing is set in stone until pen meets paper in the world of college football recruiting. More names to watch are expected to emerge as the Tide push to add talent up front on defense.
