Former Alabama wide receiver feels Alabama offense stunted his creativity

Alabama WR Aaron Anderson (#82) catches a pass in 2022 Spring Football Practice

Former Alabama football wide receiver, Aaron Anderson feels LSU is giving him more freedom to be creative as a wide receiver.

Anderson spent his true freshman season with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Tigers picked him up as a transfer.

The Louisiana native is currently on pace to have a breakout season with the LSU Tigers as he has 21 receptions for 298 yards and one touchdown through four games, more than tripling his receiving yard total from last season.

The former four-star attributes his early-season success to the Tigers’ offense being different than Alabama’s offense when it comes to the art of route running.

“On the field at LSU, they want you to run your route to get open. You know, to not be a robot,” Anderson told NOLA.com. “Alabama, it’s like when they tell you to run a route, you’ve got to run it like this, exactly like this…Sometimes when you run it how they run it, it don’t always work. Like, you always get covered by just being basic. Sometimes you’ve got to add like a little swag, a little sauce, a little freedom.”

Anderson will take on his old squad on Nov. 9 when the Tide travels to Baton Rouge.
