Alabama football’s former head coach, Nick Saban continues to be complimentary of the transition from him to Kalen DeBoer in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama is 3-0, and the Crimson Tide are looking like one of the top teams in college football ahead of their matchup with Georgia.
Saban revealed why he feels DeBoer has done a fantastic job of doing what he feels is one of the most difficult things to do on the Pat McAfee Show.
“He’s done a fabulous job, in my opinion, of transitioning because this is probably one of the most difficult things,” Saban said. “If you take over an unsuccessful program, everybody welcomes the change. Everybody welcomes the new hope that is created by having a new coach. But when you take over a successful program, How are people gonna respond to you? How are you going to be accepted? How is the changes you make going to be accepted? But he’s shown no ego. He and I have a really good relationship and the changes that he’s made still put his sort of stamp on things. So, I’ve been really impressed with him. I think maybe he’s one of the few guys that could’ve done this as seamlessly as it’s been for him and the players.”
DeBoer will be able to capture more praise from Saban and the rest of the college football world with a win over Georgia.
