Alabama got off to its best start under new head coach Kalen DeBoer coming out of the gates firing offensively as it took a 30-7 lead to the half over Georgia.

Despite the lopsided score thus far, there are still a few key points the Crimson Tide must zero in on in the remaining quarters of play in order to take care of the Bulldogs.

Get more pressure on Carson Beck

Alabama did a great job in the first half at eliminating easy wins for Georgia quarterback Carson Beck which it must continue to do. It has also done a great job setting up the offense with two big interceptions which set up scores.

But unlike games past the Crimson Tide front hasn’t consistently got home creating negative plays.

So far the group has 0 quarterback hits and 0 sacks, but was able to apply pressure in the endzone resulting in a safety. Those are the types of plays that need to keep showing up.

Beck was at his best in the second quarter when he was protected well, so Kane Wommack will need to either scheme up some pressure or the Alabama front needs to start winning in the trenches.

Do not get complacent offensively

The game plan from DeBoer and offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan has been outstanding. Quarterback Jalen Milroe hasn’t looked better than the start he got off to against the Bulldogs as he goes to the half responsible for 3 touchdowns.

Alabama’s offensive will need an extra dose of the pressure Milroe was able to put on the defense both on the ground and through the air.

Essentially, the offense cannot get complacent in the second half and try to just wait out a Georgia team that will more than likely feel disrespected coming out of the break. Finding Ryan Williams and Kendrick Law for big chunks should remain in the gameplan, as well as the creative carries from Justice Haynes, Jam Miller and Germie Bernard.

Keep the penalties in check

An easy way for Alabama to let Georgia back in the game will be by shooting itself in the foot with penalties.

It flared up near the end of the second quarter when the Crimson ide backed itself up deep in its territory but was bailed out by an impressive scramble from Milroe.

Alabama goes to the half with 5 penalties so far and it can’t begin to pile them up should the Georgia offense start to settle in and gain momentum.
