Alabama cornerback, Domani Jackson has been quietly impressive through four games in his first season with Alabama.
Jackson impressed on defense Saturday in the Tide’s SEC opener against Georgia, logging an interception and seven total tackles. The junior USC transfer now has Alabama fans and their coaching staff excited, mainly defensive coordinator Kane Wommack, who spoke on what Jackson’s addition has meant for the Tide’s defense in the teams press conference on Monday.
“Domani has been a real quiet consistency in our program and our defense the last four games,” Wommack said. “I think again, the other night, I think he had one ball caught on him, he did a really good job at the point of attack. I think from a down field presence he’s very consistent in his technique, he’s become a very physical player which is exciting to see. That was something that we really challenge him all offseason, in his ability to go make plays on the ball. And then, certainly in the run game or in the perimeter throw game, I think he did a really nice job as well.”
Jackson’s play has given the Alabama secondary more clarity after many came into the season questioning the Tide’s depth at the cornerback position.
