Alabama football reclaimed its spot on the top of the throne as college football’s best after they defeated Georgia and catapulted themselves to the No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll.
The Tide are back to work at practice ahead of their road matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores, knowing the target on their backs is evident once again. Alabama’s senior captain and defensive back Malachi Moore met with media members Tuesday and discussed the standard the Crimson Tide must uphold going forward with their new top ranking as each team prepares to give their best performance in hopes of knocking off the top-ranked Tide.
“We always thought we were the standard of college football anyway, and that we’d always get everyone’s best shot,” Moore said. “So it doesn’t really affect us or how we go about our business. We come in each day knowing that we’re the best and on Saturdays we’ve got to work like it because whoever we play that week it’s gonna be a Super Bowl or National Championship, or whatever you wanna call it and we’ve got to be on top of our game every week.”
Moore and Alabama now shift their focus to the Commodores, as they are scheduled to kick off from FirstBank Stadium at 3:15 p.m. CST on Saturday.
