Elite Alabama DB commit Dorian Barney updates commitment with top programs pushing

Dorian Barney provided an update on his commitment to Alabama football.

The Crimson Tide pledge is a 2026 defensive back recruit, and he attends Carrollton High School in Georgia.

Barney committed to the Tide over Ohio State, Florida State and others in May.

He remains locked in with the Tide while continuing to gain as much information about other programs as possible.

“I’m locked in with bama,” Barney said. “I am just exploring all of the opportunities that other schools are giving me.”

Some of the nation’s top programs remain in contact with Barney.

“Ohio State, Texas A&M, Penn State and Notre Dame.” Barney said when discussing which other teams are recruiting him hard.

Alabama hosted the junior for a visit when it defeated Georgia. Ohio State hosted him over the weekend, and both programs have stood out him on the defensive side of the football

“They (Alabama) are playing all of the young guys, so that really stick out to me,” Barney said. “But Ohio State had four corners on the field at once before.”

The four-star is listed at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds. He closes on the football really well and attacks it in coverage. The Georgia prospect also comes downhill with impressive speed and displays great reaction skills when he diagnoses where a play is going.
