Jalen Milroe is starting to truly look like a quarterback poised for the National Football League.
He wowed the college football world with his athleticism in 2023 as a first-year starter at Alabama, but now he’s become a more effective and efficient passer. The native Texan is completing a variety of passes with accuracy, timing, touch, and precision that has caught the attention of NFL scouts and draft analysts.
He put on a show two weeks ago versus Georgia with a career-high 374 passing yards and two touchdowns, including a 75-yard bomb to freshman Ryan Williams to propel the Crimson Tide to a 41-34 victory on Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Milroe had four total scores in the matchup, handing Kirby Smart a loss.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder responded with another 300-plus yard passing performance against Vanderbilt.
Milroe had 310 yards passing with two total scores, regardless of a 35-40 stunning loss to the Commodores. Jordan Reid, an ESPN NFL Draft analyst, highlighted ball placement on seam passes as a significant improvement for Milroe.

He connected with tight ends on seam routes against Vandy, including two each to CJ Dippre and Josh Cuevas.
Dippre had two catches for 66 yards, while Cuevas had two receptions for 22 yards. Milroe’s growth as a passer has him completing 73.4 percent of his passes (80 of 109 passes completed) for 1,274 yards and 11 touchdowns to two interceptions.
He is having a really good season as a complete playmaker. It will be fun to see how he performs against South Carolina.
