The College football world has been enamored by the talent of true freshman wide receivers, Ryan Williams and Jeremiah Smith this season.
Smith recently made the claim he and Williams are the best two wide receivers in the nation as freshmen, and it’s safe to say Williams agrees.
“I would say that I completely agree with him,” Williams said.
Williams reflected on the previous workout he had Smith before their freshmen seasons, acknowledging the two playmakers are in similar classes in terms of talent.
“We’ve come in and put our head down,” Williams said. “I met him probably like last year and when we worked out, I could just tell we were on the same wave length as far as what we wanted to do at the collegiate level. I’ll definitely say we’re the top two in the country, no disrespect to the other guys in the country.”
Through 6 games, both freshman playmakers have asserted themselves as the No.1 option within their respective offenses. Williams leads Alabama in receptions (23), receiving yards (576) and touchdown catches (6). Smith is second on Ohio State with 32 receptions. He leads the Buckeyes in receiving yards (553) and touchdowns (7).
