No one know what Alabama football really is right now.
The Crimson Tide does not have an identity under Kalen DeBoer. Alabama has two losses and is a great danger of missing the College Football Playoff in DeBoer’s first season. He felt like the toast of the town after hanging on to beat Georgia, but now there are many questions DeBoer has to answer. Alabama has not looked good in each of the last three games, including losses to Vanderbilt and Tennessee. National media sees a huge problem with this team, and ESPN’s Tom Luginbill is one of them.

He dropped the hammer on the Tide in his interview on Monday’s airing of The Next Round Show.

“Alabama is a sloppy, undisciplined football team that has the good fortune of having a collection of really, really good athletes that allows them to overcome most of what most teams couldn’t so they can be in the game at the end of the 4th quarter,” Luginbill said.
Luginbill said the Tide was ‘fortunate’ to have the lead in the first half.
Nico Iamaleava of Tennessee struggled connecting with receivers in the first half. Alabama forced three takeaways, but if Iamaleava would have accurate it would have been a different story. The Tide had another unsportsmanlike penalty on the road for a second time this season. Malachi Moore got called for one against Vanderbilt, while Kendrick Law was guilty last week.
This team lacks discipline, leadership, and focus right now.
