It has been a tumultuous journey for former Alabama quarterback and No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young. The Carolina Panthers named Young as the team’s starting quarterback for their week eight matchup against the Denver Broncos.
After starting the first two games of the season, Young was benched in favor of veteran quarterback Andy Dalton. In the first two games, Young was 31/56 passing for 245 yards and three interceptions.
He has played in two games since then. Young came in late in the fourth quarter against the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders. He went 6/9 passing for 54 yards.
The former Heisman Trophy winner could be on the trade block. The Panthers have moved on from Young but seem to be indecisive when it comes to whether they want to trade him or not. Teams have reached out, but the Panthers remain hesitant on their stance regarding Young’s future with the organization.
Regardless of what Young’s future holds, he will be the team’s starting quarterback in week eight against the Broncos.
