Yes, a full moon causes high tides, and that is exactly what the Alabama football team needs for the remainder of the season.
For the first time since 2007, the Alabama Crimson Tide have two regular season losses prior to the start of November. Despite those two losses, Alabama can still achieve all of its goals for this season.
One thing that has plagued this year’s team is the inability to play complimentary football. For instance, Alabama’s defense forced three turnovers against Tennessee, but the offense was unable to capitalize on ensuing possessions. Flash back to several weeks ago against Georgia and Alabama’s offense and defense were clicking on all cylinders in the first half. That is the definition of true complimentary football.
Since then, Alabama has been as far away from complimentary football as possible or so it seems. The tide seems to be inconsistent and ever-changing in Tuscaloosa. Alabama must get back to playing complimentary football before it is too late and their aspirations of reaching the College Football Playoff are diminished.
Alabama fans should be concerned by the two early losses this season. However, it is not quite time for fans to press the panic button just yet. There is plenty of room for optimism as the Crimson Tide look to ‘let all naysayers know’. After all, this is the mantra that Alabama carried all year long last season.
It is important for everyone to realize that this years Alabama team is different from teams in years past. The leadership, personnel, and culture are still a work in progress. Alabama still possesses the necessary assets to succeed and continue to win at a high level.
Several of the issues that Alabama fans are mostly upset with are the recent play of quarterback Jalen Milroe, the struggles in conference play, and the newly minted coaching staff.
Each of which must be resolved as Alabama navigates a treacherous schedule ahead. In order to do so, Alabama must get back to playing to the Alabama standard. The standard that propelled the Alabama football program to new heights under the direction of Nick Saban. Several traits that Saban instilled in his players was to be hard-working, disciplined, and selfless.
Alabama must find its own identity and play together. If that happens, the sky is the limit for this Alabama football team.
“Success is not measured by where you are in life, but the obstacles you’ve overcome.” – Booker T. Washington
Alabama has been knocked down, but it is now time to get back up.
