Jamarion Matthews reported an offer from Alabama football Saturday after he visited the Crimson Tide.
Matthews attends Sparkman High School in Alabama. He is a 2026 prospect, who holds a three or four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites.
Earning an offer from Alabama is something Matthews has dream of for several reasons.
“This offer means a lot to me,” Matthews told Touchdown Alabama. “One of my goals was to get an offer from this school because my grandma was a true Alabama fan and her not being able to watch my high school football career on this earth. I know she’s up there watching, and I just know I am making her proud. Me being able to get an offer from one of the biggest football programs in college football tells me I’m doing something right.”
Matthews went on to express his overall thoughts on the Alabama program.
“My overall thoughts on Alabama’s program are very high,” said Matthews. “The atmosphere they have, the tradition, how much the staff care for the players outside of football. Everything at Alabama was just good to hear.”
The new Alabama target considers himself a leader on and off the field.
Matthews finished his junior season with 17 sacks while lining up on the edge at 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds.
“I feel like I do good at leading and setting an example for the younger ones under me,” Matthews said.
