The deadline is next Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET as several team look to make a playoff push.

Former Alabama coach comes to Bryce Young’s defense, amid Panthers struggles

Young, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, has been rumored to possibly be traded from the Carolina Panthers.

He got benched earlier this season for Andy Dalton after having struggles through his rookie season and a little in his sophomore campaign. Young has 523 passing yards and two touchdowns to five interceptions. Carolina takes on New Orleans on Sunday at home via CBS at noon CT. Dave Canales, the Panthers’ head coach, told reporters he is ‘excited’ to see Young after a good week of practice.

“He had a great week,” Canales said about Young. “Just taking steps with the guys. You can see the chemistry, the time on task throwing to people, and again he was into it. He was engaged. He was really driving the ball. I am excited to see him get out there.”

Canales said the reps Young got with the first-team really helped him.

“He came in last week with a lot of great energy, and he stacked another week that way,” Canales said. “We’ve had a lot of great conversations in between about the game plan. I am really excited to see him out there.”

We will see how Young steps up to the moment.
