Alabama’s defensive line is coming together at the right time.
Freddie Roach, the Crimson Tide’s defensive line coach, has started to see several players develop into impactful guys.
LT Overton, Tim Keenan III, Tim Smith, and James Smith have all stepped up. Jordan Renaud, a reserve defensive lineman, continues to gain the trust of the coaching staff. The 6-foot-4, 268-pounder has nine total tackles, including half a tackle for loss and half a sack on the season. Renaud, a native Floridian, has seen his playing time increase because of his growth in practice.
The redshirt freshman has an opportunity to be a force in the second half of the season.
Roach has been pleased with Renaud’s maturity as a young player.
Kalen DeBoer reveals how much Nick Saban has been around Alabama this season
“He came on with the right mindset,” Roach said. “He came in the spring, understood the system, and as the season goes, you see him get more reps. He went in the last game, had a sack, he’s gotten pressures, and is good versus the run.”
Roach knows Renaud will continue to improve
The young talent has taken reps from Overton, Jah-Marien Latham, and Keon Keeley at the Bandit position.
Alabama fans are looking forward to seeing Renaud dominate versus LSU.
