Alabama football’s running back recruiting efforts are on pace to possibly get really interesting over the next several weeks with signing day coming up in December.
The Crimson Tide currently have verbal commitments from two 2025 running backs in Akylin Dear and Anthony Rogers.
Dear is solely focused on Alabama, and his recruitment is considered close at the moment, pointing to his relationship with Tide’s running back coach Robert Gillespie as a big reason why he is still locked in with Alabama.
“Coach G,” Dear told Touchdown Alabama in August. “Coach G from down south where I am at. So, me and him got a good relationship.”
Rogers is still getting recruited by other schools with Georgia and Ohio State being the most prominent. He officially visited the Bulldogs last month and will officially visit Ohio State this weekend. He has expressed he is still committed but wants to get more information about other programs.
“I am committed to Alabama, just looking around, making sure I made the right decision,” Rogers said before his Georgia visit.
The Tide extended an offer to a 2025 running back this week with Michigan State’s hometown 2025 commit, Jace Clarizio reporting an offer from the Tide.
The expectation is Alabama will bring in at least two running backs in this class. Clarizio and Rogers are both worth watching with signing day getting closer.
