It carries many similarities to football, so its principles translate well to the gridiron game.
The University of Alabama has the perfect quarterback shaped for this year’s football team.

In a transition year with a new head coach and a new identity, a young man with grounded values is needed to steer the ship in the direction of a possible conference and national championship.
Jalen Milroe never had anything easy, but his upbringing taught him the value of commitment, discipline, trust, toughness, sacrifice, and teamwork. When something got difficult in his life, Milroe leaned on the two people that embraced challenges, handled difficult problems, and knew the value of leadership.
Quentin and Lola Milroe served in the United States military while raising their son. Quentin was in the United States Marine Corps from 1999 to 2003, while Lola served in the U.S. Navy from 1999 to 2004. Quentin faced combat and Lola dealt with hardships herself; however, both focused on how to use the military to shape their son for his mission as a quarterback.

In a special SEC Network piece, Jalen spoke on the value of his parents.
He expressed to Marty Smith of ESPN the importance of his family.
“They’re both a big impact on my life and I just try to give them their flowers as much as possible.”

“They’re both a big impact on my life and I just try to give them their flowers as much as possible,” Milroe said.
They groomed him to be outstanding young man, but Milroe has become more than that.
He has become a great ambassador for Alabama football, an upstanding person in the Tuscaloosa (Ala.) community, and he is guiding the Tide to an opportunity to compete for a College Football Playoff National Championship.
The military taught him two great acronyms F.A.M.I.L.Y. (Forget About Me I Love You) and L.A.N.K. (Let All Naysayers Know).
He will put both on display versus Louisiana State University at Tiger Stadium. Milroe appreciates the coaching he got from Nick Saban and the transition he has made to Kalen DeBoer, but his parents prepared him for everything.
He is excited to put on a show for them under the lights of Tiger Stadium.
