Brian Kelly vehemently frustrated with LSU’s run defense after loss to Alabama

Stephen Lew - USA Today Sports

Brian Kelly got embarrassed by Jalen Milroe again, and he is not happy.

The LSU head football coach watched Alabama’s starting quarterback run all through his defense at Tiger Stadium to a tune of 185 yards and four touchdowns. Milroe, a redshirt junior, ripped off scoring runs of 39, 10, 19, and 72 yards in a 42-13 impressive victory for the Crimson Tide over the Tigers. LSU’s defensive front had no answers for the native Texan and Kelly looked vehemently frustrated at the podium in his postgame presser. The Tigers had two weeks to prepare for Milroe and Alabama.

What did we learn about Alabama after its impressive victory over LSU?

Alabama had 311 yards rushing and six touchdowns.

“If you are watching the game, you are like what did these guys (LSU) do for two weeks,” Kelly said. “We have a scheme to stop the quarterback. We did not get that done so I take responsibility for it.”

Milroe ran over LSU in 2023 at Bryant-Denny Stadium for 155 yards and four scores in a 42-28 victory.

He has 340 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in two matchup against the Tigers.

Milroe now prepares for Mercer, but Kelly is not happy with his group.
