Jihaad Campbell explains how violent intentions led to Alabama defensive success vs. LSU

Alabama Linebacker, Jihaad Campbell came into Saturday night’s matchup against LSU with the goal of eliminating the Tigers home crowd.

Campbell and the Alabama defense helped erase the home-field advantage in Tiger Stadium with their dominant 42-13 performance over LSU. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound junior linebacker was a force within the Tide’s defense all night long, recording 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a pass breakup and matching his season-high in tackles with 12.

The IMG Academy product met with media members after the game to elaborate on the mindset that went behind the dominate and violent play of Alabama’s defensive unit.

“We was going into the game with violent intentions, that was the whole mindset,” Campbell said. “We didn’t really care about their stadium, their fans, how they bring the crowd into the game. We didn’t really care about that. We cared about us playing as a whole unit, going out there and smashing people in the face.”

Campbell and the Crimson Tide’s defense continue to show improvement as they fight for a spot in the College Football Playoffs.
