Alabama LB with an opportunity to make a bigger impact in Crimson Tide’s CFP push

Will McLelland - USA TODAY Sports

Alabama’s defensive depth is being called on again under Kane Wommack.

Bray Hubbard, a second-year safety, answered the call when Keon Sabb got hurt.

He emerged in the game against Tennessee and had the Crimson Tide’s secondary operating well versus Missouri and LSU.

Hubbard has two interceptions since receiving an opportunity and Alabama fans are hoping the same success happens for another player. Alabama will be without Que Robinson, a veteran edge rusher, for the rest of the season with an upper body injury. The Birmingham (Ala.) native sustained the mishap in the Tide’s 42-13 victory last week over the Tigers. Robinson has seven tackles for loss, four sacks, six quarterback hurries, and a forced fumble. Keanu Koht, a former four-star, is suspended for Saturday’s game versus Mercer. No one knows the cause for it, but Kalen DeBoer and Kane Wommack don’t have him playing.

Alabama has options at ‘Wolf’ linebacker behind Qua Russaw, but does this open an opportunity for another player to become impactful?
