One Alabama player has recently taken the initiative to become a leader vocally as well as a leader by example.
That is junior linebacker Jihaad Campbell. The New Jersey native has been a wrecking ball for the Crimson Tide this season. He is projected as a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and rightfully so.
Campbell leads the team with 87 total tackles. In addition, he has recorded five sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception, and one fumble recovery. Despite not being a team captain, Campbell has continued to play like one as of late. He has set the tone for Alabama’s defense this season and will need to continue to moving forward.
Last week, Campbell delivered a passionate statement to his teammates saying, “If you are not going to give your all in practice, then you don’t need to be here.” That statement is one that will win over a lot of fans. Not to mention, his play on the field will as well.
Given Campbell’s potential and production, he is being projected as a top 15 overall pick in the upcoming draft. He has the ability to play inside linebacker or outside linebacker at the next level. That creates more value for Campbell. His draft stock should only improve as the season progresses if he continues to perform at an elite level.
