Alabama football is losing its second defensive player to the NCAA transfer portal.
After watching Jehiem Oatis hit the portal, outside linebacker Keanu Koht decided to file paperwork to enter the portal. The former four-star from the 2021 recruiting class from Florida announced on Instagram his decision to hit the portal.
BREAKING: Alabama loses linebacker to the NCAA transfer portal
Qua Russaw and Yhonzae Pierre, both redshirt freshmen, have emerged as the duo at the Wolf position. Que Robinson, a fifth-year senior, is out for the rest of the season with an upper body injury.
Koht’s decision to transfer opens the door for two true freshmen to have an opportunity at marquee reps this season and for next year.
Christian Robinson, Alabama’s outside linebackers coach, stated how the redshirts are being taken off of Noah Carter and Jayshawn Ross. He said both guys have a chance to show their effort, attention to detail, and earn important reps on the field. Both came in the Crimson Tide’s 2024 class as four stars.
Carter and Ross have immense potential to be successful in the outside linebacker room.
Both played last week versus Mercer and will look for more action against Oklahoma and Auburn.
Koht moves on, but now Carter and Ross are next up to be special for the Tide.
