Alabama’s offensive line has been put to the test on multiple occasions this season. That could be the case again on Saturday when the Crimson Tide take on the Oklahoma Sooners.
The Sooners have recorded 32 sacks on the year. No player on the roster has more than seven sacks. Junior defensive lineman R Mason Thomas leads the team with seven sacks. The rest of the team has no more than four sacks individually. It is a collective effort up front that could cause Alabama’s offensive line to have some trouble at times.
There are defensive linemen, linebackers, and defensive backs that have recorded sacks for the Sooners this season. Sooners head coach Brent Venables is known for scheming different formations and alignments to make things difficult for opposing offenses to operate. I would expect that trend to continue on Saturday inside Gaylord Family Memorial Oklahoma Stadium.
Alabama’s offensive line has surrendered just 17 sacks on the season. There have been certain games where the Crimson Tide allow more pressure and sack opportunities for opponents. This could be one of those games where the Sooners get to quarterback Jalen Milroe more times than expected. The all-around, Sooners pass rush is sure to present some problems for the Crimson Tide this weekend.
