Jalen Milroe had the worst game of his career statistically versus Oklahoma when it comes to turnovers.
The Alabama quarterback had three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
Who steps up for Alabama’s defense if Deontae Lawson is out?
Oklahoma earned a 24-3 stunning victory over the Crimson Tide in a matchup where it entered as a 13-point underdog. Alabama is out of the Southeastern Conference Championship Game conversation and its College Football Playoff dreams are over.
Kobe Prentice, a veteran wide receiver, took ownership of one of Milroe’s three turnovers.
He blamed himself via Instagram for not securing a block on the outside, allowing Eli Bowen — an Oklahoma defensive back — to step in front of Ryan Williams for a takeaway on a screen pass to the perimeter. Prentice said Milroe “really only had one and I had the other. 4 played his heart out like he always does!”
Alabama has to seriously regroup as the Iron Bowl versus Auburn is this week.
Oklahoma became bowl-eligible by spoiling the Tide’s season. Auburn shocked Texas A&M with a 43-41 victory at Jordan-Hare Stadium over the weekend. Hugh Freeze and the Tigers would want nothing more than to have bragging rights by handing its in-state rival another loss, which would make it bowl-eligible too. This Tide needs has to have better focus this week in practice.
