The Southeastern Conference provided an injury report Wednesday for Saturday’s Iron Bowl.
Auburn comes into Bryant-Denny Stadium at 5-5, looking for a bowl berth. Hugh Freeze has his team coming off an emotional, upset victory over Texas A&M at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Auburn earned a 43-41 overtime win and Payton Thorne had the best performance of his career at quarterback. The former Michigan State transfer had 301 yards passing and two touchdowns to one interception. Alabama, who enters at 8-3, look to finish the regular season not allowing its in-state rival to make a bowl game.
Alabama captain Malachi Moore comes to Kalen DeBoer’s defense as Crimson Tide’s head coach
The Crimson Tide has a slim chance of making the 12-team College Football Playoff. Alabama is ranked No. 13 and needs a little chaos to happen to get in. According to the injury report, the Tide will not have four players — including three starters on defense.
Keon Sabb (defensive back, foot), Que Robinson (outside linebacker, upper body), Deontae Lawson (inside linebacker, leg), and Cole Adams (wide receiver, lower body) are out for the matchup. Auburn, on the other hand, has five players “out” and one that is a “game-time decision.”
Bray Hubbard has replaced Sabb since the Tennessee game.
Alabama has the combination of Qua Russaw, Jan-Marien Latham, and Yhonzae Pierre that have stepped up at WOLF in Robinson’s absence. Justin Jefferson, a senior linebacker, will handle the green dot communication in the absence of Lawson.
Alabama has Ryan Williams and Jaylen Mbakwe handling punt returns in Adams’ absence.
One of the best rivalries in college football kicks off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saban Field this weekend.
