Tyler Booker takes final jab at Auburn after trash talk

Will McLelland - USA TODAY Sports

Alabama football players showed Auburn University the Crimson Tide still owns the Iron Bowl.

Kalen DeBoer earned his ninth victory of the season as a first-year head coach for Alabama, getting a 28-14 win over the Tigers inside Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saban Field. Auburn did much chatter leading into the game, including freshman linebacker DeMarcus Riddick taking shots at Jalen Milroe and Ryan Williams. Riddick could not stop Milroe, though, he said the junior quarterback ‘would not get out the box against him.’ He said Milroe ‘is not faster than him’ and that he ‘will not lose to Alabama’ while he is at Auburn. None of what Riddick said came to pass as Milroe ran for 104 yards and three touchdowns on 17 attempts.

Tyler Booker, a team captain for Alabama, appeared Monday on The Next Round.

The junior offensive lineman took one final jab at Auburn after all the trash talk.

“Honestly, we all just laughed at it,” Booker said about how Alabama handled the trash talk from Riddick.

“We knew that he was going to have to see us eventually, and he did. Ryan [Williams] showed how special he was and Jalen [Milroe] showed how fast he was. That kid is going to have to go through a little media training this offseason.”

Auburn’s regular season ends at 5-7 without a bowl berth.

Alabama is 9-3 and still has an opportunity to possibly get into the College Football Playoff.
