Alabama football is focused on either making the College Football Playoff or preparing for a bowl game.
It finished the regular season at 9-3 in Kalen DeBoer’s first year as head coach. He has been campaigning for the Crimson Tide to make the 12-team playoff, but we will see how the CFP Committee deliberates the latest rankings Tuesday night.
Jahlil Hurley, a former five-star in the 2023 signing class, plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. The Florence (Ala.) native confirmed an early report about him making the decision. Hurley, a second-year defensive back, had a great high school career, but it looking to become impactful for a new collegiate program. He has a Southeastern Conference title ring from 2023.
Hurley is the third defensive player that plans to hit the portal — joining Jeheim Oatis (defensive lineman) and Keanu Koht (outside linebacker) — but will others follow? The portal window opens Monday, Dec. 9 and closes on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Players will have an opportunity at this time to transfer to different programs. According to close sources, Touchdown Alabama Magazine has learned several names for the Crimson Tide could test the portal waters after the season.
