Alabama’s Athletic Director Greg Byrne is still campaigning for the Crimson Tide to have the final spot in the College Football Playoff after watching SMU fall to Clemson 34-31 in the ACC championship game.
Byrne tagged the CFP committee in a post via X on Saturday night, stating Alabama’s final resume is why they are the more postseason worthy team over ACC runner-up SMU.
“Strength of schedule matters,” Byrne posted. “Not all schedules and conferences are created equal. Six of our eight wins are against bowl eligible teams and have come against some of the top teams in the sec, including sec champion Georgia.”
Both, Alabama, SMU and the rest of the college football universe everywhere now wait in limbo as the CFP selection committee is set to officially release the inaugural 12-team bracket on Sunday, Dec. 8 at noon EST.
