Former Alabama LB says Tide deserve to be in the ‘Toilet Bowl’

Since the College Football Playoff’s decision to select SMU instead of Alabama in the new 12-team bracket, it has reignited the season long criticisms of the 2024 version of the Crimson Tide.

Namely its two costly losses against Vanderbilt and Oklahoma are rightly at center stage when discussing the reasoning behind Alabama’s exclusion from competing for a national championship.

Even though many argued that despite those losses the Crimson Tide was still the better option than the Mustangs, former national championship winning linebacker Reggie Ragland had a different feeling.

Ragland jokingly shared on social media, that his alma mater deserves to play in the “toilet bowl” with the rough losses on its resume.

“When you lose to Vandy and Oklahoma you should be in the toilet bowl,” Ragland said in a post to X.

To some fans, that may as well be where Alabama is playing on News Years Day except it’ll be taking in Michigan in the (marginally) more marketable ReliaQuest Bowl.
