Former Alabama running back, Damien Harris feels Texas quarterback, Quinn Ewers, would be a great fit for Kalen DeBoer’s Crimson Tide offense.
Ewers is not in the transfer portal and is still the starting quarterback for the Longhorns, but this fact did not stop Harris from making a statement about Ewers being a good fit at Alabama on The Athletic’s “Until Saturday” Podcast.
“Quinn Ewers out at Texas, transfers to the University of Alabama, plays under Kalen DeBoer, makes something out of this offense,” Harris said. “Honestly, I think that he’s a better fit quarterback wise than Jackson Arnold or Jalen Milroe…If Quin Ewers does not go to the NFL, there is no way he goes back to Texas.”

It is unclear how Alabama’s quarterback room will look next season. Jalen Milroe’s future looks to be uncertain, Ty Simpson has shown no signs of leaving the Tide, five-star quarterback, Keelon Russell, has signed with Alabama and Austin Mack and Dylan Lonergan could be back next season. However, it remains highly unlikely Ewers will be in Tuscaloosa next season but stranger things have happen in the portal era.
