The 2025 recruiting class is likely set in terms of high school and junior college recruits. Alabama signed two of the top junior college prospects in the cycle, and both have the potential to be day 1 contributors.
Three-star defensive linemen Kevonte Henry and Steve Mboumoua will come in with valuable experience after spending time at the junior college level.
Henry signed with Oklahoma coming out of high school as a four-star recruit. The California native held 15 offers but ultimately chose the Sooners. He spent one season in Norman before deciding to transfer to Cerritos College in Norwalk, California. In two seasons with the Falcons, Henry recorded 63 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 13.5 tackles for loss.
Mboumoua took somewhat of a different path. Coming out of high school, the Canada native planned on signing with the Crimson Tide. After learning that he needed an additional class to enroll at Alabama, Mboumoua enrolled at Southwest Mississippi Community College. He was a key piece of the Bears defense over the course of the 2024 season.
Both Henry and Mboumoua have what it takes to play significant roles along the defensive line for the Crimson Tide in 2025. Henry was recruited to play outside linebacker but could play defensive end. He is listed at 6-foot-5 and 248 pounds.
Mboumoua is listed at 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds. He could play along the interior or at defensive end. Alabama did not specifically recruit him to play either position. He is a strong presence and will be sure to bolster Alabama’s defensive line unit.
I would expect both of them to be immediate impact players for the Crimson Tide in 2025. Alabama fans should be excited about each of them for the 2025 season.
