It is going to be interesting to see if he is part of Alabama football for next year, but Jalen Milroe did offer an interesting perspective about the quarterback room in Thursday’s media availability.
The redshirt junior is focused on the Crimson Tide playing Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Dec. 31 in Tampa, Fla. He is not concerned with talking about his NFL Draft status; however, he knows what Alabama is working with at quarterback next year.
The Tide won’t have Dylan Lonergan.
He has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal as the former four-star from the 2023 recruiting class is headed elsewhere. Alabama would return Ty Simpson and Austin Mack, but Kalen DeBoer signed a very talented five-star freshman — Keelon Russell — as the future at the position.
“It’s going to be a really talented group that’s gonna be in position to do a lot of special things next year,” Milroe said Thursday to reporters about Alabama’s quarterback room for 2025. “I’m excited for those guys for the opportunity that’s presented to them.”
What does Milroe mean by this statement?
He is not coming out with his decision to declare for the pros, yet in reading between the lines it feels that way. We will ultimately see what his decision is after the bowl game, but his insight into the Tide’s quarterback room for next year is intriguing.
